Residential Projects in Panama - Focus Vol. 41#1

Despite the worldwide financial crisis, the real estate market in Panama, while it has leveled off from the boom situation of recent years, remains active. Foreign buyers are still arriving in considerable numbers to look for homes and properties.

For homes, there are many devel­opments to choose from. In Panama City, apartments constitute a buyer’s market and there are interesting offers of houses in the Old Quarter and outer city environs. The Pacific beaches area to the west of the city is developing fast. The Azuero Peninsula is getting its share of attention and further west , Bocas del Toro and Chiriquí remain popular for retirees and second home buyers. The  province  of  Chiriqui,  always popular  for  retirees  and vacation home seekers, will become even more desirable  for  its  real  estate  since  the enlargement  and  rehabilitation  of  the Enrique  Malek  International  Airport in  the  capital  city,  David,  and  the commencement  of  service  by  Copa Airlines connecting the province to 69 international destinations.
